A Jewel in the Family Crown

Topaz represents November. This gemstone is a warm, golden sparkle that exudes energy like a crackling fire and puts you at ease. It's cozy and simple and all things nice with a little November spice; no frills but lotsa thrills and glee. It's comfort, as in hot chocolate and homemade cookies; warm woolen mittens on a cold, blistering day; chicken soup with oyster crackers; and, a pretty, sensitive, smiling face in a family portrait. That's my "all-over-the-board" definition of the Topaz gemstone; a jewel that brings warmth, creates memories, and brings merriment to the soul. Well, simply put, all things nice!

Re-read that one more time, only replace the word "topaz" with a person by the name of Susan, my niece-in-law. Go ahead, re-read the paragraph and insert the name Susan as you read.

Today is Susan's birthday and she has become a very important and precious jewel in our family crown. As I ponder this Sunday-day which the Lord hath made, I honer the birth of the partner whom the Lord hath given to my wonderful nephew, Jonathan. She is warmth, sparkles, coziness, simplicity, comedy, prettiness, and one of God's (and Jon's) prized treasures.
I am grateful for you, Susan. We are blessed to have a "topaz" in our family! We love you and are proud of your contributions to the family!

Happy, Blessed Birthday!

PS G'pa D. would be joyfully jolly to know that Jonathan Edward (Edgew) married a beautiful, Polish Girl who shares his b'day month. You've even made him proud!

BLESSINGS: "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies (...and Topaz.)" Proverbs 31: 10

Her beauty shines in her witness to her family and friends and the ministry which she lovingly is willing to share with all those who are weak and broken and need encouragement. She is a lifter-upper in spirit and kind to the youngest through the oldest with much patience and joy. She has grown to become an even more valuable treasure to us during her own difficult times. We Rejoice!
